Colors

Cultured marble products are generally coated in the mold with a clear or colored gel coat. The outer layer provides the ultimate strength to the bonded matrix. It also makes the final product water proof, durable & resistant to chipping. Depending on the finishing process used, the gel coat also provides the shiny surface that adds so much luster to the final product.

VEINING

"Veining" is the result of injecting colored pigments into the cultured marble matrix. We are somewhat able to control the amount of pigment with a timed on & off cycle & the amount of air pressure. We cannot control the way the "veining" settles in the matrix.

A light veining should result in light appearance with light intensity. Some colors such as greens, grays, blues & blacks seem to have more intensity even when "light".
A medium veining should have slightly more veining but also slightly more intensity.
A bold veining should be lots of veining with more intensity. Some would consider the bold veining a "busy" color.
When casting a bowl or especially a tub, the veining is stretched in the well of the bowl or tub.
